Most of the biodiversity on any property lives underground, invisible without DNA tools.
What lives in soil
Mycorrhizal fungi, decomposers, nitrogen-fixing bacteria, nematodes, springtails, and earthworms drive nutrient cycling and plant health.
Sampling soil
Composite several small cores from each habitat using clean tools, and record depth, land use, and moisture.
Using results
Compare restored and unrestored areas or track change after invasive removal, cover cropping, or reforestation.
